is a project looking at how  people living in the physical boundaries of the northern New Mexico’s Chama River watershed are mapping and re-mapping the landscape through use, tradition, law, oral history, industry, and agriculture. Water is a precious resource in this part of the world, and acts as the lens we use to think approach these different maps and the conflicts arising between them. If you ask someone in the New Mexico about water, chances are that you will hear innumerable (and sometimes contradicting) stories about the places and people marking the land. Through these stories, we hope to draw for you a map of the Chama River watershed.
